October 1, 2008 – HSR, a leader in alumni survey research, is working with a consortium of Ivy League Schools, using HSR's Alumni Engagement Survey to examine what motivates alumni to remain engaged with and make financial gifts to their alma maters.  HSR is employing their new, Web-based, Survey Feedback Community tool to share results online as quickly as data are being collected, and to create an online dialogue between survey respondents and alumni relations staff.  Dr. Flynn notes, "This is really state-of-the-art survey technology, and it's going to significantly affect the way survey data are collected.  Survey respondents report that they actually become engaged in the survey process.  Providing online community forums where respondents and organizational leaders can discuss survey results, really makes the survey process much more meaningful and effective."  Participating Ivy League Schools will be able to collaborate online using the Web-based HSR Survey Feedback Community tool, and all participants will be invited to attend HSR's end-of-project Design Conference, where survey results will be discussed and benchmarked, and Best Practices for building engaged alumni communities will be presented.  If you would like more information about this study, please email us at info@harfordsurveyresearch.com
